My husband and I left Stuttgart in 2009 and I pined for it for five years. Husband left the Army and got a job in Stuttgart. We went back and spent four more years there, then moved to Wiesbaden almost six years ago. I definitely don't miss the USA at all! I don't know what I'm going to do when it's time to leave.

Seeing this video gave me some sanity back in my life with the incredible anxiety I have been experiencing with a pending microdiscectomy. I have been driving myself crazy asking is this the right decision, but I did the conservative route for an L4/L5 very large extrusion. Got to the point at 6 months where I could almost get back to normal. As soon as I got back to normal and increased activity The shooting pain and burning came back. This time I am having total leg numbness and unable to lift my toes when foot is flat. Was recommended surgery as the MRI shows the original herniation is actually larger and causing a lot of impingement on the nerves. I have been losing weight prior to all this and am currently down 95lbs with the goal to get back down to the low 200s. With the large herniation any really physical activity it appears will flair it up and put me out of commission for months at a time, not an ideal living situation for myself or especially my family. I am looking to get back to being active with my kids and your video gave me some confidence that it is possible! So thank you for posting this!

6 months here. Same surgery, same disc. I am not pain-free, but it seems like I'm slowly getting better. My biggest issue is I still can't bend without pain. Still mild nerve pain when sitting as well. It is somewhat discouraging when I hear all these success stories. Just wish I was normal again. I exercise every day. Walk every day trying as hard as I can.

Can't you try to get a permanent visa either arguing that you want to be close to your son or getting a job in Germany in order to get a permanent visa? For example, if you agree to do an education as a train driver. Almost all train companies have a shortage of drivers, so it shouldn't be a problem to get a job and since train drivers are required to keep the transport infrastructure working, the authorities have to give you a permanent visa. And once you have the legal right to live here, you should get a court ruling to spend time with your son regularly inside Germany, though you probably won't get permission to take him over international borders as long as your wife distrusts you, therefore you'll probably have to wait until he turns 18 before you can travel with him internationally.

just to give you an impression about safety in Germany. When I was 14, I was allowed to go to Munich, which is 100 miles from my parents', on a christian festival with my elder of-age sisters. I had a ticket for the subway and I spent the whole week exploring a 2.5 million inhabitant city unsupervised on my own while my parents were a 1.5 hours drive away. I was able to do that because public transport is that good that you can reach any place at any time without effort, no-go areas and crime are virtually not existent and there are always helpful people around who would be there if a kid gets into trouble.

When she came to visit you, it's a bit delusional to keep thinking of her as still your wife. She was there for the child. She didn't want you to take her to the hospital and then immediately filed a lawsuit on you when she returned. Married on paper only for some time up until that point. Starting from when you were in hospital and she didn't visit was basically the end.

I have some questions. When will you start to drive again? Would you do an 8 hour road trip 2 weeks after this surgery? Just wondering. My ribs hurt sooo much and i could not take deep breaths at all after surgery. There are supplaments you can take that can act as the gallbladder and do the gallbladders job. I googled what happens next after gallbladder removal and there are holistic supplements to help the body absorb nutrients from food as it goes through the digestive system. Did your surgeon tell you the state of your gallbladder and what was wrong with it?

If asked what you did to your truck, instead of pointing to your neighbors truck who obviously knows what he did because he did his homework, you would need to precisely identify explain what you did do that others who like “YOUR” look, fould achieve this. Otherwise, it’s just a “I lifted nothing to it because it isn’t anything lift to nothing!” I own 2 frontiers, I absolutely did my home work. Mine and my son’s trucks own any Toyota trucks because I did my homework. A lifter frontier almost has no meaning other than what it could do. Please don’t make me laugh!!

I live in Schweinfurt, a mid-size industrial town in central Germany. I can walk to the groceries and hear the first german word from the cashier. There are lots of black people here and lots from middle east. perhaps white people live more in the nice suburbs than downtown, but that's how it is to me.

Epidurals are horrendous I’ve had 2 previously . The first was a caudal and second a lumbar and it destroyed my pancreas and diabetes (I’m very slim and athletic) because of the steroids….. It’s horses for courses but I think exercise, strengthening the core, and all of the supporting muscles is the best way forwards . I’m glad your ok Trey 💪💙

Hi Trey! Great, that this surgery completely stopped all the pain. I had problems a few years ago with pain on my right buttocks side going down my right leg, no accident though. I could not sit long anymore, and standing for a long time was painful too. I had scans, and even though it showed that I had L5-S1 plus a few other bulging discs, the 5 doctors I did consult all told me that this is age related, and wear and tear, no need for a Operation at all. The last doctor I consulted mentioned that it could be that the S1 compresses a nerve slightly, but that this would not amount to the pain I was experiencing. After a lot of physical therapy, and exercises I did on my own, but not really finding long term relief, a neurosurgeon suggested to try epidural a few times to ease the nerve pain. I decided against it, because he could not tell me that this would help 100 percent, plus, I have NO high pain tolerance, and unless you put me to sleep, there is no way they can do a procedure on me while I am wide awake. :) I still have the right sided nerve pain, but it has eased within the last year. I am curious (since your dad is in radiology) what he thinks about multiple bulging discs, and if they should be operated or not. Avoided surgery so far due to being scared of the operation, but also because the doctors tell me, it is not something that need to be operated on. Your story about the keyhole operation and how easy it was makes me think to perhaps pick up that topic again and just have a consultation with a neurosurgeon. Thanks for the video!
